WOMEN
1. Women were discriminated the same as other minorities.
2. Women were paid less money for the job as the same as a white
male
3. They werent given raises or promotions.
4. Girls werent allowed to play sports

WHO WERE IMPORTANT


AFRICAN AMERICAN CIVIL
RIGHTS LEADERS AND THEIR
STYLES?
1.
Dr. Martin Luther King; followed Gandhi style of nonviolence to
achieve the civil rights. He was subjected to violence but he
never acted out. He achieved it and now has a holiday after his
name. He was assassinated.
2. Malcolm X; As we all know in history there are no two great men
that are alike. Malcolm X was the opposite of MLK. He was born
in a poor household. He believed in fighting back physically. His
famous quote is By any means necessary. although later in life
he went to Jerusalem and met other Muslims he changed his
views and became nonviolent. He was assassinate by the black
muslim community.

HOW DID AFRICAN


AMERICANS PROTEST TO
CREATE CHANGES?
Nonviolence protests helped change the civil rights movement
where police were beating up African Americans and when people
saw it they felt bad and started following the cause.
Boycotting services. A lot of African Americans boycotted the
buses, restaurants and every segregated places.
