Reading: work on learning new words, the
letters Vv and Zz.
Writing: continue work on writing opinions
and also step by step directions.

Classroom News
Please return your permission slips
for our zoo field trip on May 15. It will be a
fun trip. I will send a reminder letter our
next week regarding details for our trip.
It is hard to believe we are already in May.
Things begin to get very busy. Please keep
and eye on the calendar!
In class this week we learned six new
words in reading and focused on reading
more fluently. We also worked on writing
facts that we learned from informational
books, and then typed up those facts on
the computer! In math we finished up our
unit on measurement and began a unit on
sorting. Our science unit has focused on
weather and in social studies we are learning about being fair and responsible. Last,
in religion our class learned the parable of
the Pearl of Great Price.

about peoples rights and responsibilities
and being fair
