CONCEPT OF TESTING..

Defined as a tool or instrument used to


describe and understand on attribute.
A test is a formal, systematic method to
gather information about pupils
learning.
A test is a sample of behavior.
A test may be defined as a task or tests
used to obtain systematic observations
in education.

Testing also is a systematic


procedure for measuring a
representative sample of learning
tasks and its main function is to
improve student learning.
Examples: final exams, pop quizzes,
writing tests, oral or performance
based.

CONCEPT OF
MEASUREMENT..
Defined as a systematic process of
assigning numbers to
performance.
Used to determine how much of a
trait, behavior, or performance.
Very formal and quantitative.
Used to assign numbers to describe
attributes or characteristics of a
students.

Involves measures of ability,


achivement, and/or personal
characteristics.
Examples:
(1) Ali got a score of 65 percent on
his Math
test.
(2) Siti got 17 out of 20 items
correct on the
science test.
