What is Romeo and Juliet? How has Romeo and Juliet influenced our current culture?

Who is Shakespeare? Romeo and juliet is a classic play that has impacted literature,
like many other examples of Shakespeare. Shakespeare unfolds and develops
Romeos character by introducing him as a heart broken fool, turning him into a
smooth talker , and by showing Romeos willingness to become a killer, and to keep
what he hold most dear.

Romeo is saddened because he admires Rosaline but she does not return the
feeling. from loves weak childish bow she lives unharmed she will not stay the
siege of loving terms nor bid th encounter of assailing eyes nor ope her lap to saintseducing gold; o she is rich in beauty, only poor that when she dies, with beauty
dies her store,(Act 1, 206-211). Romeo wants to sleep with and marry Rosaline, but
because Rosaline is becoming a nun, he can't win her heart. He is saddened by this
because every move her tries to sway her heart fails. Romeo let's his feeling of
sadness over take every aspect of his life. is the day so young?....Ay me, sad hours
seem long was that went hence so fast?... Not having that which, having, makes
them short,(Act 1, 155-159). Romeos strong emotion of sadness because of
Rosaline's rejection, leaves Romeo in a moapy state. Romeo feels as if the day is
too long, because he see no joy in those long hours. Romeo becomes such a sad
case that him friend tries to get him intrigued in other girls. at this ancient feast of
Capulet's sups the fair Rosaline, whom thou so loves, with all the admired beauties
of Verona. Go thither, and with unattainted eye compare her face with some that i
shall show,(Act 1, 84-88). Romeo's friend Benvolio, thinks that comparing rosaline
to other girls will cause Romeo to see that there are other pretty girls in the world,
and he thinks that Romeo will gain more hope in the world when he sees there are
other pretty girls in the world.

Romeo Kisses Juliet within minutes of meeting her. O then, dear saint, let lips do
what hands do! They pray. Grant thou, lest faith turn to despair,(Act 5, 101-102).
Romeo is requesting a kiss from Juliet, when he just met her. On top of that Romeo
is luring her into the kiss by comparing it to a prayer, this shows him being a
smooth talker because he luring her into the prayer. Romeo compares Juliet's
beauty to that of an angel. O speak again bright angel, for thou art as glorious to
this night, being oer my head, as is a winged messenger of heaven,( Act 2, 26-27).
Romeo is show how much of a smooth talker he is by bringing in religion, which was
a huge part of the culture. Romeo is proving that hes a smooth talker by, basically
telling juliet that he thinks she belongs in the heavens. Romeo also proves that hes
a smooth talker by saying Juliets more beautiful than the moon. But soft, what
light through yonder window breaks? It is the east and Juliet is the sun! Arise fair
sun and kill the envious moon( Act 2, 2-4). Romeo made a smooth talker by
Shakespeare to advance the plot, comparing Juliets beauty to the sun, and saying

that the moon is envious of the sun's beauty is one of the many examples of his
smooth talking.

Romeo is a rebellious killer because he kills Tybalt. Romeo, away, be gone, the
citizens are up, and Tybalt slain! Stand not amazed. The Prince will doom thee death
if thou are taken,( Act 3, 128-131). Romeo is angered by his best friends rage, this
causes him to attack Tybalt and kill him. This act is also rebellious because he
fought Tybalt when the Prince had forbid Montagues and capulets fighting, one
reason why Romeo is a rebellious killer. Romeo is a Rebellious killer because he
sneaks throughout the city when banished for killing tybalt. Wilt thou be gone? It is
not near day. It was the nightingale and not the lark that pierced the fearful hollow
of thine ear,( Act 3, 1-3). Juliet finds Romeo in at her balcony the night that he is
banished and tells him to leave so that he does not die. This makes him a rebellious
killer because he is defying the ruling of the prince. Romeo is rebellious because
sneaks into the capulet garden nearly every night to tell juliet of his love for her,
when the Capulets and Montagues hate each other. I have night's cloak to hide me
from their eyes, and but thou love, ( Act 2, 74-75). This is one of the many
conversations juliet and Romeo have when he sneaks into the garden beneath her
balcony.
