Missionary to the United Kingdom

O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years,

in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.
Habakkuk 3:2b
The United Kingdom
As four countries on the mainland
and fourteen overseas territories, the
United Kingdom stands as a key
nation on the world stage. The land
mass of the UK is slightly smaller than
the US state of Oregon, yet England,
Wales, Scotland and Northern
Ireland have a total population of
over sixty-two million people.

Although the UK was once the catalyst for revival

and missions, she has sadly declined over a mere
two generations. Currently, less than 7% of the
population claims to attend church anywhere.
The fastest growing religions are atheism,
witchcraft, and Islam. In a recent survey, nearly
half of the population of the UK listed
themselves as atheist, pagan, or no religion. It is
estimated that less than 0.4% of the population of
the UK attends a Bible-believing church.

The United Kingdom plays a vital role in world

evangelism. Because of its location, the UK
could be the next great launching point for world
missions. Just as the Old British Empire reached
around the world to build its own riches, this
modern nation has the potential to spread the
treasure of the Gospel throughout all the world.
Personal Testimony
I had the great privilege of growing up in a Christian home and I
accepted Christ as my personal Saviour when I was twelve years
old. A year later, I surrendered my life to Full-Time Christian
Service and became involved in the ministry of my local Church.

It was during this time that I went on my first Mission Trip with
my Church Youth Group. This trip planted a burden in my heart
that continued to grow throughout the years, and in 2002, during
another Youth Mission Trip, the Lord began leading me to the
United Kingdom as a Missionary.

After completing a Bachelor's Degree in Theology with Proficien-

cies in Missions and Music Education, and a Master's Degree in
Religious Education (both from Atlanta Baptist College), the Lord
allowed me the opportunity to take a second Mission Trip to the
UK in the Summer of 2009. It was following this trip, during the
annual Faith Promise Missions Conference at Liberty Baptist
Church, that the Lord granted the desire of my heart by calling me
to be a Missionary to the people of the United Kingdom.
Pastoral Recommendations
Doctrinal Statement
The Scriptures. I believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the sixty-six canonical books
of the Bible, their inerrancy, and their preservation in the Majority texts of the original
languages and the King James Bible in English.
God. I believe in the eternal, triune God Who created and sustains the universe as a mani-
festation of His power and glory.
The Person and Work of Christ. Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died a
substitutionary death, arose victorious over death and hell, and ascended bodily into
Heaven where He now intercedes for the saints.
The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has no bodily manifestation
but indwells a believer at the moment of salvation in order to empower that believer to
serve and honor God. The Holy Spirit also has a special role in the prayers of the saints
(Rom 8).
Salvation and Security of the Believer. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone in
Christ alone. Salvation is immediate, complete and eternal and is not based on any
work or merit of the recipient.
The Church. The church is the Body and Bride of Christ. The local church is an autono-
mous group of regenerated, baptized believers working together to carry out Christ’s
Great Commission.
The Ordinances of the Local Church. The two ordinances of the church are baptism (of
believers only, by immersion only), and the Lord’s Supper (unleavened bread and un-
fermented juice shared among like-minded believers in remembrance of Christ’s
death). These are not sacraments and do not have saving power.
The Personality of Satan. Satan is a created being who rebelled against God, was cast
down from heaven, accuses the brethren, and will one day be eternally defeated and
punished.
The Eternal State. Every person has an eternal soul that will live forever (1) in everlasting
punishment in the lake of fire or (2) in the presence of God in heaven.
The Second Coming of Christ. Christ will return in the clouds to call the church at the
rapture (before the Tribulation) and will come to earth seven years later with the church
to defeat Satan at the battle of Armageddon.
The Millennium. After Armageddon, Satan will be bound for one thousand years while
Christ rules with the saints on the earth. The Tribulation saints will live in human bod-
ies during this time, and their children must either receive or reject Christ personally.
The Great Commission. Christ commands every believer to be actively involved in
spreading the Gospel in their own area and around the world. The command is for
every believer to bear the responsibility of sending or taking the Gospel to every crea-
ture in every generation.
Ecclesiastical Separation. In order to protect the church from doctrinal confusion and
corruption, the church must remain true to its Biblical convictions and not collaborate
with churches or leaders unless they hold the same Biblical position and doctrine.
Sending Church
I am privileged to be sent out of Liberty Baptist Church in Stockbridge,
Georgia. Pastor Matthew Grimes and Pastor Emeritus Dr. Glenn
Anderson have both been used of God to help direct my life. I have been
an active member of Liberty Baptist Church since moving to Stockbridge
in 2005.
Before this time, I was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Lilburn,
Georgia. Their Children’s and Youth Programs also had a great impact in
my life and calling and I am deeply grateful to the many faithful servants of
God who encouraged me to obey God’s Will for my life.
