Dad- My dad came from a very poor family from a little town called Cuyapo.
When he was born his father died of sickness and his mom had to take care
of him and his four siblings by herself. Although life was tough they never
once gave up. My dad continued to go to school and finished all of high
school while working to support his mom and siblings. They all worked
together and had one anothers back. After high school my dad decided to go
look for a job in the capital, Manila. He went with his oldest brother Virgilio
and they found jobs that helped support their family. After a couple of years,
my dad met my mom in High school in the city. According to my dad a lot of
girls liked him but he ended choosing my mom who wasnt interested in him.
They ended up being with each other and later on my dad proposed to my
mom and they got married. While all of this was happening his sister Aurora
married Romeo they went to the United States together. She ended up
Bringing my dad and helped him get a job there. His first job was a dish
washer at a local diner in Vallejo. Although he had a college degree it was
hard for him to get a job. Soon he earned enough money and brought my
mom to the US. As years passed my dad landed a job in Caltrans as an
electrical engineer. Through hard work and determination he kept getting
promoted and getting a higher salary. He bought his own house in Glen Cove
and live with my mom. When they found out they couldnt make children
they went back to the Philippines and adopted Renalyn. They got her paper
work and they brought her to America. My dad worked hard and diligently
getting promoted higher and higher. Soon he bought his first car which was a
Mustang GT. He drove it everywhere. My soon my dad became one of the
highest management bosses and he was happy. He went from washing
dishes to fixing light bulbs on bridges to becoming a boss for Caltrans.
Mom- My mom was raised in a small town called Pangasinan. She lived with
her six siblings. They very poor too and like my dads family they had to work
hard. Her brothers worked while going to school and her parents worked also.
My mom went to school but never finished high school. Her family moved to
Manila to look for better opportunities. Thats where she met my dad and
they really hit it off. They ended up getting married and while my dad was in
the US she waited and helped her family earn money in hopes of helping
them come to the US also. Soon my dad came back for her and she came
with him to the US. When they started living in a house my mom was
working at McDonalds because she never finished high school. After they
adopted my sister my mom worked as a yard duty for the school my sister
went to. She later became friends with the other yards duties because they
too were Filipino. My mom got along with everyone and liked working there.
My mom worked as a yard duty until my sister and I finished elementary
school and then she quit because she didnt need to watch us anymore. She
became a full-time stay at home mom for one year until we had to move to
concord. She then became a grandmas care giver because she was
disabled. As years passed by she found out that she had a tumor on her back
that was cancerous. She had it removed with surgery and is now in chemo
therapy to prevent the cancer from coming back. Shes still going to chemo
one every two weeks and she hates it. My mom never let that get in the way
of her life and she is still always as energetic as before whenever she
watches the Warriors game.
Renalyn- Was born in a foster home on February 4th. She had only her mom
and her dad was unknown. She stayed at the foster home until she was 2
years old and my parents adopted her. After getting adopted they
immediately got her paper works done and they brought her to the United
States. My sister went to Glen Cove elementary from kindergarten to 5th
grade. She was a very friendly person and made many friends. She loved
spending time with my parents when she was at home and if they were busy
she used to just play with herself. She would imagine a scenario in her head
and she would play all the parts by talking to herself. At the age of 6 she
started playing the piano and she had a teacher come in once every week to
teach her how to play. My sister is a very bright student but she hated math
so she did not excel in it. After the fifth grade she went to a private in called
MIT middle school. She didnt like it there so she transferred to Franklin
