Batty

Cut out all the pieces and attach them in the following
order.
Ears first. Insert A-B of ear
pieces into the ear dart of
the body with the ear
sticking out of the fur side.
Then sew along the dart
(A-B) on the other side
trapping the ear in place.
Then sew from B-C.
Body second. Put furry
sides together and sew
sides together from D
through E to F leaving
a gap for stuffing.
Then sew the top
onto the sides (with
the furry sides in)
from D through G
to F on both sides.
Eyes can be put in
at this point. Use
push-through safety
ones with washers.
Reinforce the eye
hole by sewing around
it before fixing the eye washer in place.
Wings come next. Match two wing pieces and sew
around from G to H, leaving the opening open. Turn
right-side out and pad each wing with a small amount
of stuffing, then sew up the opening. With the body
turned right-side out, position a wing matching G
to G and H to H then repeat with the other wing and
make sure they are symmetrical. Sew wings firmly to
the body.
Filling takes place now. Push in a lot of stuffing into
the head to maintain the shape (especially the nose),
and then fill the body sufficiently to stop the wings
sagging. Then close any openings.
