DRAFTING PATTERN
FOR
BLOUSE, SKIRT
AND SLEEVE
Drafting the Back Bodice Pattern

1.Using the L-square, mark the corner A as the fundamental

construction line and square both ways.
2.From A, mark the figure downward to locate B.
3.From A, measure 1.5 cm downward to locate C.
4.From A, measure 3 cm rightward to locate D. Connect C
and D with a French curve, then from A is ½ shoulder to
locate E, then square downward.
5.From E measure 3 cm downward to locate F. From F
measure 10 cm to get G, then mark 1.5 cm inward to get
6. From A, measure ½ of armhole to locate I
downward.
7. From I measure ¼ bust to locate J. Using a French
curve, connect H and J.
8. From I measure 7 cm inward to locate K, then from B
measure 7 cm to locate L.
9. From L measure 1 cm inward to locate M, then 1 cm
outward to locate N.
10. From B, measure ¼ waist to locate O plus 2 cm for
the darts. From O measure 1 cm upward to locate P.
Connect N and P.
Drafting the Front Bodice Pattern

1.Using the L-square, mark the corner A which is the

fundamental line and square both ways.
2.From A, mark the figure downward to locate B.
3.From A, measure 10 cm downward to locate C.
4.From A measure 6.5 cm to get D. Connect C and D with a
French curve, then from A is ½ shoulder to locate E,
square downward.
5.From E measure 4 cm downward to get F, from F
measure 10 cm to locate G, then mark 2 cm inward to
6. From A measure ½ of armhole to locate I, extend line I
and B.
7. From I measure ¼ bust plus 2 cm to locate J use French
curve to connect H and J.
8. From line D-E downward is the bust height and mark a
point, then ½ of bust width to locate K. From B, is ½ bust
to locate L.
9. From L is 2 cm to locate M and 2 cm to locate N.
Connect K and M, and K and N.
10. From B measure ¼ waist to locate D plus 4 cm for the
darts, then O measure 1 cm upward to locate P. Connect
N and P with a hip curve.
Drafting the Skirt Pattern

1.Using your L-square, square both ways and mark corner

A.
2.From A measure 1.3 cm downward to locate B, then 10
cm to locate C or the first hips, then 18 cm to locate D or
second hips. Measure the skirt length to locate E plus 4
cm downward for the skirt bottom hem or E1. Extend
lines C, D, E and E1 to right sideward.
3.From A is ¼ waist plus 2 cm for darts to locate f. Connect
B and F with the hip curve.
4. From D is ¼ second hips to locate G, then from E,
mark 25 cm sideward for the skirt bottom width.
Connect F and G with the hip curve and G to H and H1.
5. From H is 8.5 cm to locate I, from C is 8.5 cm to locate
J. Connect I and J. From I is 1 cm to locate K, then 1 cm
to locate L. Connect K and J, L and J for the dart. From
H1 mark 1 cm upward for M. Connect E and M.

Note:
In constructing your skirt back pattern just add 2.5 cm
from line A and E1 for the zipper allowance.
Drafting the Sleeve Pattern

1.Using your L-square, square both ways and mark

the corner A.
2.From A is the sleeve length downward to get B
plus 3 cm for B1.
3.From A measure 10.2 cm downward to locate C
and extend the lines C, B, and B1.
4.From C is ½ of armhole minus 1 cm to locate D,
connect A-D.
5. From B is ½ flower arm girth plus 1 cm to get
E. From B1 is ½ arm girth plus ½ cm to get E1.
Connect D and E to E1.
6. Divide AD into four equal parts and mark
them F, G, and H. From F, mark 1.5 cm above to
locate I and mark 1 cm above G, then mark 1
cm below H for K. Mark the armhole form A to
I downward to J to K and D.
