DRAFTING THE PATTERN FOR PENCIL SKIRT

Measurements needed in drafting the Pencil Skirt

Waist

Hip 1

Hip 2

Skirt Length

Skirt Width

Bust Distance

Follow the instructions: Draft the Pattern of the Pencil Skirt using your own measurements.

A - is the starting point

A - B 3 to 4 inches ( going down )

A - C 7 to 8 inches ( going down )

A - D = the skirt length ( depending on the desired length )

Extend point A, B. C and D to the right

A – E – ½ of the bust distance

E – F = 5 inches (downward )

E – G = ½ inch ( going to the left )

E – H = ½ inch (going to the right )

Connect point G and F, H and F to form a dart

A - I = ¼ of the waist plus 1 inch

A – J = ¼ of hip1

A – K = ¼ of hip 2

A – L – ¼ of the skirt width

L – M = ½ going up

A – N = ½ inch ( going downward)
