• explain what dressmaker is
• elaborate what does tailor do
• develop ideas on fashion and style

DIRECTIONS:
1. Group into 5.
2. Select your leader and secretary
3. Select one classmate to be your model
4. Grab a pen and paper to write the answer to the following:
a. describe what he/she wears (from head to foot)
b. write the brand name of his/her outfit. (head to foot)
c. what is his/fashion style? (modern, traditional, etc.)
d. what can you suggest for his/her improvement in style and fashion?
5. Present your answer in class

•Dressmaking is defined as
the craft of sewing clothes
and dresses. An example
of dressmaking is the art
of sewing a beautiful dress
from fabric.

• A dressmaker is a person
who makes custom clothing for
women, such as dresses,
blouses, and evening gowns.
A dressmaker is also called a
mantua-maker (historically) or a
modiste.

designing, cutting,
fitting, and finishing
clothes.
• The word tailor comes
from the French Latin
tailler, to cut, and
appears in the English
language during the
fourteenth century.
