Day 1

After a long day of traveling, you will check into the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino
for a good nights rest. Since you will be in San Juan for 5 days, you can afford to spend the
money on this hotel, for luxury meaning that for the first half of the trip $1,455 will be spent on
hotels ($224 per night plus $419 in taxes). In the morning, you can wake up late (jet lag) and
take a taxi to rent your self a car before breakfast, the car will be a volkswagon jetta, and will
cost approximately $350-$400 for the time you will be there. After returning to the hotel, you
will have a relaxing breakfast by the pool. You will be able to do anything you like until the tour
bus picks you up at 1:15 for a half day sightseeing tour ($122). This tour includes:
Seeing the Cuartel de Ballaj, an old Spanish military barracks.
Seeing a collection of art and anthropological exhibits from the Americas.
A tour of some of the older streets and sections of San Juan.
A 30-45 minute shopping experience to finish the day,
After the 5 hour tour is over, you take a 15 minute drive to dine at El Jibarito. They serve cheap,
authentic Puerto Rican food that tastes amazing. Which will end the day after drinks at the hotel,
since the restaurant closes at 9:00.
Today will cost about $600 which includes the car rental.
Day 2
Today's main event will be the pool/beach. San Juan has some amazing beach spots, and the
pool view at the hotel is stunning. You can wake up when you please, and at your leisure take a
7 minute drive to Pinky's breakfast restaurant to enjoy an amazing breakfast.
After returning to the hotel, the beach/lazy day will begin, and I would imagine a nap by the pool
as well.
For dinner, you will have a short 10 minute walk to a romantic dinner at 6:00 at 1919 restaurant.
On the way back, you can stop at the Ben and Jerry's ice cream parlor for dessert. Next, you

What will we see/hear: Languages, oceans, wind. Beaches, Foods, Old/new San Juan.
What will we taste: Duck, Steak/rice, Seafood, Fresh Veggies/Fruits
What will we learn: Food cultures, Traditional San Juan/Puerto Rican Foods.
Globalization in puerto rico: After the spanish american war, a mass amounts of
puerto ricans to immigrate to the us, effecting their exports of sugar.
Americans can be conscious consumers by realizing that when we buy plastic,
and throw it away, landfills are being filled up. And when we buy, we should be
contributing also by having a product to give back.
Globalization a path to a brighter future? I can be, if we are able to settle our
diputes as nations, and feed off of one anothers products, we will be able to expand
and come to our full potential. analogy: Humans only use 10% of our brain capacity, if
we could use 100%, imagine how much more productive we would be.
Countries view global issues from different perspectives because we all want
something different, or we feel that we want one thing more than they do.
