Throughout my high school years, I have completed all of the advanced courses available in my school in order to prepare
myself for hard work and to become more dedicated in taking care of my responsibilities.

Experiences

Los Angeles Jewish Home

Volunteered 8 hours/week at a place for the elders with disabilities

Helped nurses take care of the residents and helped them on their activities.

Activities

Music therapy, hand therapy, manicuring, organized the residents meals.

Allowed me to grow as a person, due to the fact that the responsibility to care for the residents lives was given
to me.

Verbally communicated with nurses in order to make sure the residents were in well-being

Translation

o Daily able to speak English and Spanish effectively (English at school and Spanish at home)
o Often volunteer to translate information to parents from teachers in conferences.
Fashion Club
o

Gave me an opportunity to develop teamwork skills because I constantly had to work with my peers to plan for
various events.

Gained sewing experience, which requires following directions and patience. From there, I was various times
asked to teach my peers how to use the sewing machine correctly.
o Helped my peers when they were facing difficult situations or were confused on what to do to plan correctly
for events.
Cooking Class
o Learned how to read instructions and follow directions to cook a meal.
o Learned that I was part of a food preparation team and that everyone must work harmoniously to ensure the
timely production of quality foods.

Adapted to handling different tasks at once in order to make a meal come together.
