She is very conscientious and is always well prepared, By the third week, Kaitlyn had ‘mapped out the final two weeks of her placement where she taught forthe full day. Kaltlyn's lesson plans always showed creativity and thought and they were always linked to curriculum expectations. Her self reflections were always insightful, and during feedback ‘sessions, Kaitlyn was always open to suggestions for improvement, implementing all suggestions made. Provide suggestions for Improvement: Kaitlyn continued to improve each day as the placement progrossed, By the ‘end, she was much more comfortable with the content. More practice teaching math, using a three-part lesson, will provide her with the ‘opportunity to continue to improve her handling of questions, development Of strategies and implementation of activities. During less structured tasks and while teaching physical education, Kaitlyn should continue to focus on developing appropriate volume to help keep students on task and following instructions, ‘required. Manipulatives were used to teach specific algebra and patterning expectations and she assessed their understanding using a quiz and several performance tasks. She regularly implemented technology, having students explain their thinking using the "Show Me" App on the IPads. Kaitlyn felt very comfortable integrating the Habitat unit in science during literacy. Students learned about animal habitats and created trading cards by summarizing the researched information. She also helped to organize our class field trips to Fighting Island and the Water Festival. Kaitlyn then consolidated the learning by planning interesting classroom tasks. She effectively used small group instruction, both in math and literacy (guided reading groups) During her month at Maiden, she was extremely active in all aspects of school life, Besides classroom field trips, she helped with the intramural program, and worked with the track and field team before school. Kaitlyn demonstrated a great deal of cooperation with staff, and consistently showed initiative. These attributes, combined with her desire to help children learn will make her an asset on any staff.
