2.2 Mentoring of trainee Engineers or Technicians. 1 credit = 50 hours

Every registered member shall be required to accumulate 15
credits annually in order to retain registration with both ZIE and ECZ. There shall be three categories of credits and each candidate shall be required to obtain a minimum of 5 credits from each category. CATAGORIES OF ACTIVITIES FOR CPD CREDITS
CPD credits must be obtained from all three categories listed below, with a minimum of 5 credits per annum obtainable from each category.
CATEGORY 3: Individual Activities
Minimum 5 credits 3.1 Part-time lecturing to undergraduate and postgraduate students. 1 credit = 10 hours
3.2. Supervision of students undertaking postgraduate studies
1 credit per year per student
3.3 Oral examinations of final year and postgraduate students
1 credit = 10 hours
3.4 Evaluation of Masters Dissertations and PhD theses by external
examiners. 1 credit per dissertation/ thesis 3.5 Publication of research in peer reviewed journals. 1 credit per single authored publication & 1 credit per multiple-authored publication.
3.6 Publication of technical articles.1 credit per paper
3.7 Papers presented at conferences or congresses / poster presentations.1 credit per paper 3.8 Relevant additional qualifications (these are exceptional allocations): e.g. a completed postgraduate qualification. 2 credits 3.9 Participation in the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers statutory, professional, institutional, technical or non-technical committees or task groups.1 credit=7 hours (minimum 2 credits)
