Layers Of The Earth

The first layer of the earth is the crust. It is 32 kilometers thick, it has a solidlike rocky outer layer containing land and oceans, it varies depending on
your location on earth, and it is made of rocks and minerals. The second
layer is the mantle and it is 2900 kilometers thick and it changes due to
temperature and pressure, contains lithosphere (rigid and solid-like), it also
contains the asthenosphere (more liquid-like), and its is 870 degrees Celsius.
The next layer is the outer core and it is 2250 kilometers thick, it has melted
minerals and rock material, and is 2200 degrees Celsius, it contains liquid
nickel and iron. The last layer is the inner core and it is 1200 kilometers
thick, it is 5000 degrees Celsius, and it contains solid iron and nickel.

How Tectonic Plates Are Involved In

This Formation Of The Grand Canyon
The tectonic plates shake and cause earthquakes to split
the Grand Canyon apart on each side of that land.

Need A Break?!
If you need a break this summer go swimming in the
Colorado River. You can also go there to canoe or you can go
tubing. You can swim with stingrays. We have a special
daycare for 1 years olds and up located on the surface of the
Grand Canyon. If the children wanted to do something fun,
they can go look for fossils.
