Based on your self-assessment, your administrators input, and any school or district initiatives, what professional development goal have you
identified? What is an area of knowledge or skill you would like to strengthen?
This year I will need to focus on the curriculum and developing lessons for 6 th grade standard and GT science. I plan to focus on creating lessons that
use the science and engineering practices in order to create student centered learning, driven by higher level questioning.
Describe the connection between this goal and your teaching assignment. How does it relate to the domains and components of the BCPS
evaluation criteria?
I have never taught 6th grade science before so this is all new curriculum that I need to develop into new age lessons. So I am focusing on domains 1 and
3 because I have to plan for content I have never taught before and design lessons that will prepare students for assessments I have never given before.

*Focusing on Domains 1E and 3B

What would success on this goal look like? How will you know when you have achieved it? What would count as evidence of success?

I will use formal and informal assessments in order to track and document student success based on the new lessons I am designing,
planning and teaching.
