Digital Storytelling Project

Worked in conjunction with SOU faculty who headed the Oregon Writing Project. As an intern I worked in
a multi-grade classroom (grades 5-7). The project was centered on a Common Core Standard in
argument writing. I worked with the Language Arts teacher at Ruch School and an intern-supervising
teacher, assisting in the writing process, small and whole group instruction, and lead classes in the
computer lab.

In-Home Tutor
2008-2009

Gainesville Middle Schools: Gainesville, GA

I spent the school year

contracted through a private tutoring company. The children serviced were
low-income, English second language, and had failing grades. I provided direct instruction to these
students who qualified, in their homes after school and on the weekends. I gave the students preassessments in math, reading, and writing, in order to give the students direct and specific instruction.
