My Grandmothers Life So Far

My Grandmother was born on September 6th 1946 in Blackfoot Idaho.

She lived on her grandpas farm and her father was a principle of a school.
When my grandma was in elementary school she was very studios and she
also stared in a lot of the school plays. In Jr.High she was again a very smart
and studios woman as well as a very active member of the student
government and the debate team. This same drive followed her into High
School where she was on the Debate Team and again in the school
government. She was also in the Drill Team, or what we call cheerleaders
today. When she was in High School she was chosen to go to Washington D.C
to meet John.F Kennedy. She shook hands with him and exchanged a few
words with him. She said that he was a very charismatic man; even without
talking to you he would just draw you in, as my grandma said it. After
graduating from high school she was given a scholarship to BYU due to her
excellent debating skills. She majored in political science like my father did in
college. But in 1967 she met my grandpa, and a month later they were
married. Then in 1969 they had my father and soon they had 6 other
children and adopted two others. During this time she mostly stayed home
and tended to 9 children, but sometimes she would work part-time. But in
1980 she returned to college so she could finish her degree. She finished
college and still majored in Political Science. Soon after she was offered a job
in Salt Lake Citys capital building as Director of the Mayors office and Staff.

This was very lucky as most who wanted this kind of job would have to have
a law degree, something my grandma didnt have nor did she want to work
for. She accepted the job and worked for the governor until 2008 where she
then retired. She now lives happily with my Grandfather in Farmington,
although at the time of writing she is dealing with an auto immune deficiency
and shes been having some trouble with that. But shes always been tough
and a great grandma.
