Doyoueverthinkthatwhenyouhaveyourowndreamandyouwantittohappenbut
ithappenedintheoppositeway?Inanimalfarm,OldMajorgavetheideaabouttheworldof
Utopia.Theworldthatallanimalarefreefromhumanandhavingagoodlife.Nevertheless,
inthereality,theOldMajorsdreamisimpossiblebecauseallanimalsarefamiliarwithliving
withhuman,thecorruptionoccursonthefarm,Napoleonisobsessedwithpower.

Animalsarefamiliarwithlivingwithhumans,OldMajorsdreamislivingwithout
humanandanimalsinthefarmwishithappensbutsomeofthemthinkthattheycannotlive
withoutthem.ThefamiliaritybecomesthereasonthatmakestheOldMajorsdreamis
impossible.Forinstance,Mr.Jonesfeedsus.Ifhegone,weshouldstarvetodeath(p.16
17).Thesequestionsshowthattheycannotlivewithouthumanandtheyscaredwhatwill
happenaftertherebellion.Allanimalsusedtoliveunderhumancontrollingandsomeof
themdotheworklessthanothers.Aftertherebellionallanimalneedtoworkhardthan
beforewhichsomeofthemthoughtthatthatcannotdotheworkharder.Thus,itsimpossible
foranimalsthatusedtoliveunderhumancontrollingandfamiliarwitlivingwithhumans.

Asaresult,thedreamisnotgoinginthewaythattheanimalsexpect.TheOld
Majorsdreamthatallanimalswishforisequalityandgettingindependencefromhuman
controlling.Besidesinthereality,itsoppositefromthedreamcompletely.AfterNapoleon
startedtocontrolthefarminthewayhewants.Allanimalsfollowedthecommandmentand
dotheworkhardbecausetheyrelyonNapoleon.Theybelievethattheleaderwillbringa
betterlifetothem.AsweknownNapoleonisnotagoodleader.Thefarmisgoingtoanother
way,thewaythatNapoleonwantsnotallanimalwants.Whenwechosethechoicethatwe
thinkthatitsgoodforus,weneedtoaccepttheresultfromitevenitsnotinthewaywe
wantittobe,astheanimalschosetobelieveintheNapoleon.
