Centre for Sensor Studies

Our Focus
Centre for Sensor Studies (CSS) was
established in 2006 with funding from
University grant commission at Department of
Electronic Science, Savitribai Phule Pune
University, Pune. CSS have multidisciplinary
research facility focused on different sensors
technologies such as physical, chemical,
optical, and biosensors etc.
Our vision is to promote sensor
technology for social and economic benefit.
Our aim is to transfer research knowledge for
economy growth. We focus on adding value to
the research at early stage and foster the links
between academic researchers and consultants,
and entrepreneurs.
Industrial collaborations

Course
We are running a course of weightage 6 grades
for master students based on sensors and their
characterization. The course covers the basic
principles of sensors with their applications and
commercial aspects. Furthermore, the possibility
of exchanging ideas, experience, and knowledge
in the field of sensors is provided. The Course
will cover different aspects of sensors such as
materials for sensors, sensor characterization for
different kind of sensors for example gas,
humidity, electrochemical bio sensors, pressure,
temperature, speed sensors. For details of the
course please visit our website or contact us.

Research at CSS

Facilities at CSS
We have humidity, gas electrochemical and
optical biosesning setup. Probe station is new
instrument added to CSS facilities for
measurement of nanostructured devices.
