Analysis of Corporate Identity


Corporate identity is the overall persona and image of
business and how it appears to its audience.
Factors such as Color Schemes, Designs, Fonts etc. all have
major impacts on how a channel is perceived.
In the case of BBC One they use Idents to create a somewhat
familiarity with its audience.

Analysis of Target audience


From previous research we have found that BBC Ones
audience usually consist of older more mature
audience.
To compliment the older viewers, BBC One will usually
produce Dramas, News, Reality and sports.
In comparison, you get channels such as BBC Three
who target the younger more humorous audience

Ident ideas
Sunrise Ident BBC logo rises over the horizon like the
sun
Coin Ident- one side of the coin has BBC the other has
ONE, the coin is flipped to make BBC ONE logo appear
Brighton beach- the camera pans across Brighton
beach then looks down at the waves, as the tide goes
out the BBC logo is written on the beach

Final idea
The idea is to film at Brighton beach, we would film the tides go back and
forth, and the tide would take pebbles, painted like the BBC one logo, into the
sea. Its very simple but it would be very effective because there are some
hidden messages in cooperated in the Ident, for example Brighton is the Gay
capital of the city.
There are several reasons as to why we choose this Idea over the other ideas.
Firstly this Ident would suit BBC Ones corporate identity much better then
some of the other ideas as the two major themes of this Ident are British and
multi-cultural; the Ident features iconic British things like a seaside town and
pier as well as being filmed in the multi-cultural area of Brighton.
Another reason this idea was picked is that it is simpler and easier to film then
some of the other ideas, as we would not need to do a lot in postproduction
like we would with some of the other Ident ideas. Also any items needed for
the filming of the Ident will also be able to get hold of and would not be
expensive.

Expansion in to a suite of idea


The key themes of this Ident are British pride and
multicultural Britain. These themes can be expanded
upon to make a range of idents.
For British pride we could film a range of idents
featuring famous British locations and landmarks
For multicultural Britain we could film idents featuring
several different cultural groups in the UK
