1)

Write the instructions on how to create a perpendicular line through P that is ON line
m. (You MUST use the points W, X, Y or Z in your instructions.)

Step 1. put your compass on p so that the center of it is p then draw a circle
Step 2. where the circle intersects the line make them points and label them points W and X.
Step 3. next draw a circle where the radius is W and the center is X.
Step 4. draw a circle where the radius is X and the center is W
Step 5. draw a line connecting the two intersecting points that circles W and X made and it
should go through point p

2)
Write the instructions on how to create a perpendicular line through P that is NOT ON
line m. (You must use the points W, X, Y or Z in your instructions.)
Step 1. make a circle so that the center is on point p and make the circle big enough so that it
can pass through the line twice
Step 2. Where the circle intersects the line label those points W and X
Step 3. draw a circle so the center is W and the radius is X
Step 4. draw a circle so the center is X and the radius is W
Step 5. Connect the two intersecting points of circles A and B and it should pass through point p
