ZENITH ZENIT be annual economics ve of Cer use Foreword . oA Dear friends, lt is with immense pleasure that Arthashastra, the Economics Society of Miranda House, invites you to Zenith’15, the annual economics festival, scheduled to be held on 2nd-drd of March, 2015. The two-day summit shall host-an array of events that will challenge your knowledge of economics, critical thinking abilities and widen your horizon as you comprehend the depth and ubiquity of the subject. lt was the Great Depression of 1929 that made Keynes question the existing paradigm of the policy of 'leissez-fatre'= absence of state intervention-.on which Classical Economics rested. It was the rising inequality of wealth and income in developing countries in recent years that prompted new perspectives on the issue, like Pikkety's, that debunked the conventional theoretical perspectives. In the same light, Mazzucato's work on public sector and innovation that defies popular belief and Elinor Ostrom's paper on common resource management that undermines classical approaches all talk of change. And when a need for change pulses in the air, it drives out inertia of thought and lays down the path for something ground-breaking. Celebrating the dyanamism in Economies, the Teh edition of Zenith’, the annual Economics Fest of 'Arthashastra., the Economies Society of Miranda House College, will be all about transition and changing perspectives with its theme Transitus: Debunking the Old, Embracing the New’, Groundbreaking is what Zenith is going to be celebrating in 2015 with its line-up of amezing events over the course of two days. With a common goal to disseminate and absorb knowledge about Economies, we eagerly welcome your kind participation at the festival, in helping us achieve this goal and more.
