Guillorys Record Inconsistent with His Beliefs

Supports decreasing penalties for drug possession

(PLAQUEMINE, LA) Billy Nungesser today called out Elbert Guillorys Senate voting
record for being inconsistent with his conservative values. Guillorys voting record reveals
that he supports decreasing the punishment for possession of illegal drugs such as marijuana.
This support poses serious risks to society and makes Billy Nungesser, a candidate for
Lieutenant Governor, wonder who Guillory is really representing.
Before 2007, Guillory was a Republican. In 2007, he changed his mind and became a
Democrat to get elected. Then in 2013, he changed his mind again and became a Republican.
Hell do anything to get elected, including tricking the Louisiana people into believing hes a
Republican, but his senate voting records show that he does not support Louisiana values,
said Nungesser
When Guillory ran for the Louisiana House of Representatives in 2007, he was running in a
predominately Democratic district. In 2007, he became a Democrat. When registered as a
Democrat, he supported conservative policies such as anti-abortion policies and limitations
on gun regulations. After the Democratic Party accused those who disagreed with the
Affordable Care Act of being racist, Guillory claimed that he realized he was out of tune
with the Democratic Party, but these accusations were made public long before his switch in
2013. Guillorys ever-changing policies are inconsistent at a time when Louisiana needs a
leader who will stand firm.

Billy Nungessers experience as a small business allows him to make the tough decision on taxes and control
spending which led Plaquemines Parish to have a surplus every year he was president. He is creating a long
term plan for coastal restoration that would bring federal, state and private resources together to rebuild and
stabilize our levees. Nungesser has been to Washington. He has been to Baton Rouge. He has the ability and the
drive to lead Louisiana. Billy Nungesser will fight for Louisiana.
