examination
General inspection: He is alert, not cyanotic, not
needing any breathing aid, but there appear to be an
increase in respiratory effort.
No nail signs: Splinter hemorrhages etc
Hands are warm and well perfused.
Right brachial pulse is palpable.

Examination on the eyes and mouth is


unremarkable. No sign of central cyanosis.
Breathing rate is 60 per minute
There is no abnormalities on the chest
wall, and he is not sweaty.
Capillary refill time is??
Apex beat is palpable (4th intercostal
space mid clavicular line)
No cardiomegaly suspected
Liver is palpable?? Enlarged liver or
descended liver due to hyperinflation of
the lungs???

Auscultation of the chest:


Soft/loud??? Pansystolic murmur at the
lower left sternal edge.
Unclear due to rapid heart rate.
Areas to listen to murmur
Upper right sternal border (aortic valve)
Upper left sternal border (pulmonary valve)
Lower left sternal border (tricuspid valve or VSD)
Apex (aortic or mitral valve)
