In terms of quality of education, according to the UNESCO report released in 2012,

Indonesia was ranked 64 of 120 countries based Education Development Index
ratings. In fact, education is a determinant of the quality of future generations. With
good quality education, one is expected to understand the problems that occur in
the community. Understanding of the concept, particularly in physics learning, is
very important because the concepts of physics in general does not stand alone but
are related to each other. Heuristics "Vee" learning model developed by Gowin in
1977 as a method to help students and teachers understand the structure of
knowledge and the process of how knowledge is constructed. Vee has proven to be
relevant to any discipline at all levels. Therefore, heuristic "Vee" learning model with
the concept mapping can be one effective and innovative learning model in
improving the learners level of understanding.
