    The Mamiya Science Center at Punahou School was built in 1999 and designed by alumnus John Hara. It was sponsored by Dr. Richard T. and Hazel M. Mamiya, whose children and grandson all attended Punahou. Over 1,500 students take science classes in the center each year and younger students participate in hands-on workshops. During carnival time, the lecture hall is used for a silent auction of items donated by faculty and staff.

    reach is very broad, more
    then 1,500 students enroll in
    academy science classes and
    theyre all in the science
    center, while Gates Science
    Workshop is for more handson experiences for younger
    students.

    Carnival Time

    During carnival time the Cornuelle Lecture Hall


    is used for the silent auction. The objects going
    on sale are donated by generous faculty and
    staff.
