Day 1: We depart from Newport for the beginning of our journey to the town of
Fonda NY (formally Caughnawaga), the site of the Mohawk home of St. Kateri.
Following our visit to her shrine and museum we then arrive at the National Shrine
of the North American Martyrs located in nearby Auriesville, NY.
We arrive mid-morning at this National Shrine dedicated to eight devout Jesuit Fathers: St. Rene Goupil, St. Isaac Jogues, St. John de Lalande, St. Anthony Daniel, St.
John de Brebeuf, St. Gabriel Lalemant, St. Charles Garnier, and St. Noel Chabanel.
All were martyred bringing the Catholic faith to the native inhabitants of Quebec
province and northern New York. We will visit The Ravine where St. Rene Goupil
was martyred. The ravine is considered a live reliquary because his body was sunk
to hide his remains, which were incomplete when they were retrieved months later.
We will celebrate Mass in the largest Catholic coliseum in the U.S., seating over
6,000 with room for another 3,000 standing. The site also boasts five chapels, two
museums, a Jesuit cemetery, and Stations of the Cross. After our visit we depart for
Syracuse with a stop shortly after departing to enjoy lunch.

We finish our day with a brief visit to Onehda Winery, home of the sacramental
wine used in many of the area parishes, as well as St. Patricks Parish. A quick visit to
the Abbey at Genesse shortly afterwards and then a relaxing Dinner.
Overnight Syracuse, NY
Day 2: After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for the Basilica of Our Lady of Victory
and the Venerable Monsignor Nelson Baker Museum in Buffalo, New York. Though
designated a minor basilica, the church is nothing short of magnificent with its
artwork, statuary, and stained glass. It rivals many of the prominent cathedrals and
basilicas in Europe! After our tour we will celebrate Mass together.
After our time at the Basilica we break for lunch. Afterwards we journey to Niagara
Falls where we cross U.S. Customs into Canada (Ontario) and check into our hotel
to freshen up before an early dinner in anticipation of our evening Maid of the Mist
boat excursion. This exciting voyage gives all who visit the best views of Niagara
Falls and an opportunity to view the falls from its base by the evening light. Enjoy
the specially-placed lighting near and behind the falls, which give them a spectacular
majesty not seen during the day. Overnight Niagara, Ontario
Day 3: After breakfast at our hotel, we are off to visit the North American Martyrs
Shrine of Canada, located in Midland, Ontario. Similar to the shrine we started our
pilgrimage with, this one honors the Jesuit fathers as well, with a slightly different
perspective. Following lunch we will also visit the Mission Museum located nearby
and enjoy Mass later that afternoon at the site of one of the original Native villages.
Following our visit there we head East on our way to our hotel in Bellville, Ontario.
On our way, we will stop to enjoy a farewell dinner and check into our hotel upon
arrival in Belleville. Overnight Belleville, Ontario
Day 4: Following breakfast we depart for the St. Francis Xavier Mission and the tomb of
St. Kateri Tekawitha, as well as Old Fort St. Louis in La Praraie Quebec, near Montreal.
Just before arriving we will stop for a light lunch. There we will celebrate Mass following
our visit to the Mission and Old Fort. Afterwards, with fond memories and a newfound
reverence for those who were martyred bringing our Catholic faith to the New World,
we depart for home.
