NVCI
Non Violent Crisis Intervention is about knowing how to recognise the signs in students
who are becoming agitated or are lashing out. In this program you learn and share
strategies on how to deal with students in different stages.
The teachers openly and willingly shared their experiences, this was what I found
powerful.
I learned some techniques of how to deal with violent outbursts from students to protect
myself and the student. I also learned how to restrain students who were much smaller
and much larger than myself.
I appreciated being partnered with the Assistant Principal, as he shared a lot of his
experience with me as well. What to watch out for, what would I do if.
