Autism Speaks has supported research on behalf of individuals with autism by giving grants to a variety of scientific and family institutions. Totaling $143,976,306, these grants have helped 964 institutions in 16 countries across the world. Some of those who benefit from these grants include researchers at American universities. One of Autism Speaks grants for 2015 went to Rebecca Grzadzinski at Columbia University for a study on Developing a Sensitive, Cost Effective Measure of Behavior Change in Children with ASD. Kathryn

her study on Neurobiological Foundations of SelfConscious Emotion Understanding in Adolescents with ASD, and Vanderbilt University's Kathryn Unruh will research Nonsocial Interests and Reward Processing in Autism Spectrum Disorders through funding from Autism Speaks.
