Admission Notice to the M.Ed. Course ( 2012-2013)
(N.C.T.E. approved)
Applications are invited from eligible candidates with at least 50% marks in M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. along with
Honours at the Degree level & with at least 55% marks in the B.Ed degree in prescribed form obtainable
from the University Sales Counter on payment of Rs.100/- for General category & Rs. 50/- for the
candidates belonging to SC/ST& PC categories for admission to the Master of Education Course in the
i) Department of Education, C.U.(no. of seats -35), Alipore Campus,1 Reformatory Street, Kolkata-700027;
ii) David Hare Training College(no. of seats -35) ,25/3,Ballygunge Circular Road,Kolkata-700019; iii)
Institute of Education for Women, Hastings House (no. of seats-35), for female candidates only) 20B,
Judges Court Road, Alipur, Kolkata -700027 . The candidates employed on full time basis must apply
through proper channel and furnish a no objection certificate from their employer at the time of submission
of Application forms. Attested copies of Mark- Sheets of B.A./B.S.&B.com (Honours),
M.A/.M.Sc./M.Com., B.Ed., NET., SET, M.Phil., Ph.D and age proof certificate are to be submitted with
the application forms in the office of the Secretary(Acting),Alipur Campus 1,Reformatory Street, Kolkata27 (Office, Department of Education). Incomplete forms will be rejected. Selection will be made as per
University & N.C.T.E. norms and usual reservation rules ( SC-22% , ST-6% and PC-3%) will be
applicable. The adoption of New Policy for reservation of seats earmarked for C.U. & Non C.U. candidates
may necessitate the formulation of a new mechanism for implementation of C.U/Non-C.U. reservation
Policy. This new methodology, when formulated, will be notified. Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe
applicants from the other States will not get the reservation facility of SC/ST. Admission to the said
course is based on merit followed by counseling.
Age limit: 40 years as on 30.6.2012 for fresher candidates and 55 years as on 30.6.2012 for candidates
employed in Secondary/Higher Secondary Schools, Colleges, Govt. and Semi Govt. organizations.

2) Date of submission of application form 09.08.2012 to 21.08.2012 between 11.30 a.m.
and 2.30 p.m.
3) Date of publication of Merit List : 07.09.2012
4) Date of Counseling : 12.09.2012 & 13.09.2012
5) Date of Admission : 19.09.2012 and 20.09.2012
6) Date of Commencement of class : 24.09.2012
