From: Chief James Albertson
Ref: 911 Cutover to the OUHSC Police Department March 18", 2015
In an effort to increase safety on our campus, the QUHSC Police Department in conjunction with the
Oklahoma City Police Department, ACOG (Controlling Government Entity over 911 for central Oklahoma)
and the University of Oklahoma HSC, we began a 911 project to direct 911 calls in the 271 exchange area
directly to the OUHSC Police Department. The cutover will occur on Wednesday, March 18", 2015. On that
date all land line 911 calls from the 271 exchange area will come directly to the OUHSC Police Department.
For now, all cell phone 911 calls will remain the same and be directed to the Oklahoma City 911
Communications Center.
All medical and fire 911 calls will be handled through the OUHSC PD, and transferred to the Oklahoma City
Communications Center. In the event the OUHSC PD 911 PSAP is overwhelmed with 911 calls for a large
event, the 911 calls will be re-directed to the Oklahoma City 911 Communications Center
Our police department continues to look for better ways to serve our community. We value our
partnership with the members of our community and seek to keep everyone safe while on the campus of
the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
Sincerely,
