an upcoming technology is of use of hand geatures, visually recognized

that requires reasonably accurate segmentation (separation of the pixels showing the hand in a
picture, so that later, we can see what is the shape of the hand, and hence what was its gesture
Venkate

this requires to have ann approximatwe idea of the colour of the human hand
there are generalized skin models available, that uses a sort of average human skin colour for
detection
but better still would be to use a tighter approximation, of the hand colour, for the individual's
own specific skin

No

we shall try to use a face detector to detect human faces in the scene first
these detector codes are readily available
once a face is detected, we look a little lower to find the hands
use the colour of the skin just picked up to find the similar coloured pixels in the neighbourhood
I would like a comp[arison of these two approaches to establish that this 2nd one is actually
better
