Special conditions

Name of work: Supplying and laying of HDPE pipeline from Power House to
Guard pond at NTPL , Tuticorin.
1. The HDPE pipes to be supplied shall conform to the requirements of IS
4984 : 1995 and the bidder has to produce the manufactures test
certificate(MTC) from the manufacturers and take approval from NTPL
officers before commencing the supply of pipes.
2. Apart from this pipe samples shall be tested at reputed labs and third
party test certificates shall also be furnished.
3. The scope of work under various items includes cost and conveyance of all
materials (unless otherwise specified) and all labour charges, scaffolding
tools, plants, safety measures etc., complete.
4. The work has to be carried out in Plant area which is under operation. The
laying and jointing of pipelines shall be carried out without affecting Plant
operation and also with prior approval of NTPL officers.
5. After laying the pipe line, hydro test is to be conducted wherein the pipe
line/joints/ specials etc shall withstand a working pressure of 6 ksc for a
duration of 30 minutes holding period. The pumps, equipment, pressure
gauges, dummies, flanges, gaskets for isolation of pipe lines for carrying
out the hydro test etc have to be arranged by the contractor at his own
cost.
6. The contractors authorized representative should be available at site of
work to take instruction from NTPL officers regarding execution of the
work.
7. The Quantities mentioned in the schedule are only tentative and NTPL
reserves the right to increase or decrease to any extent and depending
upon the requirements at site during the Period of contract. The entire
contract value can vary up to (+) or (-) 20% of the total contract value.
8. Any item of work not included in the schedule of quantities shall be paid
extra at the rates worked out on the basis of offer quoted or otherwise
negotiated which should be determined before executing such item of
work.
PAYMENT TERMS
9.

Progressive part payment will be made against the measurement on the

quantities of work/supply of materials executed.
10.However for item No. 1 & 6, the payments will be processed as below.
a) 50% payment will be released on supplying the pipes at site and
fulfilment of special condition no 1 &2.
b) 35 % payment will be released on completion of laying and jointing the
pipelines
c) 15 % payment will be released on satisfactory completion of hydro test.
