HUMORAL
Humoral means circulating to the bloodstream.
In the Middle Ages, it was believed that the relative proportions of the four
(4) bodily fluids known as the Cardinal humours, namely, Blood, Phlegm, Yellow
bile or Choler and Black bile or Melancholy affected a persons general physical
and mental health.
It was then believed that any alteration in the 4 bodily fluids can cause
diseases/illness. While balance bodily fluid proportions was claimed to be healthy
and normal.
In short, Humoral Theory is all about the 4 bodily fluids namely blood,
phlegm, choler and melancholy.
