I am pleased to have this opportunity to bring to your attention the talents of an outstanding teacher with whom I have had the pleasure of working. Deanna Knight has been a colleague of mine during this current school year. Deanna's natural talent for teaching was evident from the very beginning. She is a creative and very dedicated teacher. She comes in early to make her lessons effective and fun for her students. Her students are offered exciting and creative lessons to capture their interest. Her classroom is alive with colorful, thoughtful projects that students have completed as they apply what they have learned. Deanna makes sure that, as a new teacher, she is well equipped to deliver each lesson with complete confidence. We have had many discussions on the art of teaching and lesson design. Deanna's lessons are well paced and varied. She has demonstrated a deep knowledge of the different teaching methodologies for the second language classroom. Students are regularly asked to incorporate many different learning styles. Even though this is her first year teaching, Deanna has grown tremendously as a teacher and made many contributions to the International Language Department. Deanna has made herself a valuable member of our team. For example, Deanna wrote the curriculum map for level three Spanish. In all ways Deanna promotes the study of foreign languages and supports her colleagues. She has even worked to help set into place the new systems for the collection of data necessary to meet the Student Learning Objectives. Deanna has met the challenges a first year teacher faces with a sense of composure that is very impressive. I am proud the field of education is attractive to such a gifted young woman. Johnsburg High School benefited greatly from Deanna's talent and energy. We will miss her. I know she will be an asset to any school that is fortunate enough to hire her. Sincerely,
