WEEK & DATE

: Week 10, on 29 June 2015 to 3 July 2015

1. Objectives
Troubleshoot the circuit.
Get the voltage reading and the time taken for the changing speed for the fan.
2. Suggestion to achieve the objectives
Troubleshooting the whole circuit will be perform to ensure can get the expected
result which is the fan can change its speed recording to the time. Get the voltage
reading and the time taken for the changing speed for the fan.
Reassemble all the components.
3. Progression and data interpretation
Switching Circuit
The Switching Circuit consists of BC548 Transistors and SPDT Relays.
The speed of the fan is controlled by only BC548 Transistor and not by the
SPDT Relay. We realized that wrong assumption was made during our study.
Only the function of the coil in the SPDT Relay is used in the circuit.
The transistor in the circuit will act as a switch.
When the base of the transistor exceeds 0.7 V, the transistor turns on acting as
a switch.

Overrall, after the switching circuit was troubleshooted, all the individual
circuit were combined to form the full circuit. The individual circuit include
the Timer Circuit Counting Circuit and Switching Circuit.

4. Problems faced

We could no see the speed of the fan changing although that the SPDT is keep on
and off automatically because the time to slow down the fan is too short.

5. Outcomes of the week

The whole circuit was troubleshooted and the hardware testing was successful.

All the individual circuits were successfully combined to make up the full project
circuit.

6. Action plans

To fabricate the circuit PCB.
