Dear Senator Schwertner:
I am writing in response to your letter dated July 21, 2015, requesting testimony from Planned
Parenthood of Greater Texas at the Senate Committee on Health and Human Services on
Wednesday, July 29, 2015.
Your letter indicates that the specific focus of the Committees inquiry is a recent video
regarding the sale of fetal organs and fetal tissue by Planned Parenthood affiliates and whether
any Texas affiliate of Planned Parenthood is breaking the law in that regard.
The health centers and ambulatory surgical centers affiliated with Planned Parenthood of
Greater Texas have never participated in fetal tissue donation or research. As a result, Planned
of Greater Texas does not plan to appear on Wednesday, as it is not clear what the organization
could offer in regards to the Committees inquiry on this particular topic.
