The air flows at 2 kg/s entering at 25°C and exiting at 40°C. The water flows in parallel to the air flow at 0.5 kg/s and 60°C. Calculate the required pipe diameter for 12m long heat exchanger tubes, The specific heat capacities of air and water are 1.009kJ/kgK and 4.18kJ/kg K respectively. The surface heat transfer coefficients for air and water are 500Wén"K and 1800 Wim°K respectively.
