I would like to apply for a summer internship position with your Hospitality Management group
for summer 2015. I learned of your company through GVSU.edu While I have a comprehensive
understanding of internal medicine, my passion lies with the business side of healthcare.
I am currently majoring in Allied Health Sciences, with a minor in Health Information Systems
at Grand Valley State University.
I previously had an internship at Family Health Care, a Michigan based company with offices in
Grant, McBain, Cadillac, White Cloud and Baldwin. There I worked exclusively with their
medical records software NextGen. I pulled information from the medical records system for
Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance companies. I also gained experience in performing audits for
the medical records system, and checking documentation for CLIA waived testing. This
experience would be beneficial to you because Im very organized and already have a strong
working knowledge of medical records systems and audits.
