Surat Al-Baqarah: Ayah 62 to 66

Aal e Yaasin Scientific Jihad

Verily those who believe, and those who are Judaised, and the Nazarenes, and the
Sabians, - whosoever, believeth in Allah and the Last Day and worketh righteously,
these! unto them shall be their hire with their Lord, no feal shall come on them nor
shall they grieve.(62)
And recall what time We took your bond, and raised over you the Tur saying: hold
fast to that which We have vouchsafed unto you, and remember that which is
therein, that haply ye may become God-fearing.(63)
Then ye turned away there after; so had not the grace of Allah been unto you and
His mercy, ye had surely become of the losers.(64)
And assuredly ye know of those of you who trespassed in the matter of the Sabbath,
wherefore We said unto them: be ye apes despised.(65)
And We made it a deterrent unto those of their day and those after them, and an
exhortation unto the God-fearing.(66)

1) Hasan ibn Ali Al Askari said: In ayah 62 of Al-Baqarah God said: those who
believe which refers to belief in God and what he has supposed such as
belief in prophecy, leadership of Ali Ibn Abu Talib and his children. Then he
refers to the Jude and the Christians. It means those who think that they are
friends and supporters of Gods religion and those who think that they are
fond of the divine religion though they lie. Among these people, if anyone
believed in God and stopped disbelieving, then remained believer throughout
his life and remained purely faithful to his promise with Muhammad and Ali
and their successors, and did the good, God would reward him in Judgment.
They would not fear in That World where all the sinners are scared. They
would not be discontent at that time when sorrow surrounds the disbelievers.
Because the believers have never done what makes them fearful or
sorrowful. Ali Ibn Abu Talib once saw a man who was fearful and talked to
him. The man said: I am afraid of God. Ali said: Be afraid of your sins not God.
Be afraid of his justice toward the rights and oppressions of his servants.
Obey him in what he has ordered and do not do what he has prohibited for
your advantages. After this do not be afraid of God anymore because he
never oppresses and he does not torment anyone more than he is supposed
to be. If you did these things there would not be any reason to fear God or
anything else but the end, because a change might ever come. If you want
God to shelter you from a mal-end you should know and believe that what
happens to you as something fortunate is due to God and his greatness. What
you do as something evil, is a kind of chance which God gives to you and he
does not torment you soon. He is merciful and patient to you.

2) About the interpretation of And recall what time We took your bond, and
raised over you the Tur saying: hold fast to that which We have vouchsafed
unto you, and remember that which is therein, that haply ye may become
God-fearing Hasan ibn Ali Al Askari said: God says: remember the time
when we covenanted with you so that you do what is in Torah and what I
gave to Moses, a special book which consists of the mentions made about
Muhammad and Ali Ibn Abu Talib and his children who are masters of all the
people and bringers of the right. When I covenanted with you so that you
confess and preserve it for posterity and order them to preserve for their
children until the end of what I have set for the world, that you believe in
Muhammad and do whatever he wants about Ali Ibn Abu Talib and his
successors who are the bringers of the right, at that time you rejected that
covenant and became arrogant. We ordered Gabriel to determine a part of
Palestine mountain on which the army of your fathers could settle. He
determined an one league in one league place. Then he held the mountain
upon their heads. Moses said: Do what you are ordered to or this mountain

falls on you. They all accepted because of fear but those whom God
prevented from enmity, these people accepted it passionately. They all fell
prostrate and put their face on the ground. Many of them rubbed both sides
of their face on the ground in sign of being little facing Gods greatness,
although they were looking the mountain to see if it falls or not. But that little
number of people fell prostrate passionately. Muhammad said: O my
followers! Thank God for this chance. You rub your face on the ground too but
not in the way that disbelievers of children of Israel used to do but in the way
that their pure ones used to. God says: Obey the commandments about
Muhammad and Ali Ibn Abu Talib with your total force and consider the
rewards which I have set for it and the punishment which comes after
rejecting and disobeying. You might be God-fearing about your rejection and
be worthy of so many rewards. Then your fathers rejected the covenant after
that they promised to remain faithful. If Gods mercy had not existed and he
had not given you a chance to return and clean the sins, you would be losers
and it would cause a great loss to This World and That World for you. That
World would be wasted because of your disbelief and This World would be
without any blessing. Because they (your fathers) might have destroyed your
world and regret about your wishes would have remained. But we gave you a
chance to return. We did so to your fathers. Anyone who wanted it, returned
and became fortunate and it came out from his self what God ordered. Now
life passes well for them (who returned) and in That World they have a high
position. Husayn Ibn Ali said: If they (who did not return) had prayed and
requested God purely to save them with intermediary of Muhammad and his
children in order not to be an enemy after seeing the miracles, God would
have accepted by his greatness but they neglected and chose the easement
and died while following their lusts. (Tafsir related to Hassan Ibn al-Askari
p266)

3) About the explanation of And assuredly ye know of those of you who

trespassed in the matter of the Sabbath, wherefore We said unto them: be ye
apes despised Ali ibn Husayn Zayn al-Abidin said: Elath tribe who would live
near the sea played a trick after being prohibited from fishing Saturdays.
They canalized the sea into their houses. The fishes which thought that they
were safe would come to these canals but could not go back. Then the people
would go and took the fishes the following day. About seventy thousands of
eighty thousands of those people would play this trick. Then they were
transformed to apes. They passed three days in simian form. It is said when
some were asked if they were the same person they would move the head in
sign of yes while crying. After three days a heavy storm broke and took all of
them to sea and no one of them remained on the land. If some similar to
them could probably be found on the earth, are not definitely from their

generation. If this is the story of the ones who got transformed only because
of Saturday fishing, what can we say about those who killed children of Gods
prophet and broke their limits? It is true that God did not transform them but
their torment is much harder in Judgment. If those people had prayed with
intermediary of Muhammad and his children, God would have certainly
sheltered them but he did not want this group of the Jude to have this chance
because their destiny was written differently in the divine mandate.
