DEFIANT campaigners today

drew battlelines in the fight to
keep the National Football Mu-
seum in Preston – and vowed: “It
is not over yet.”
The trustees said the attraction will
be “shared” between Preston and Man-
chester after they announced it will now
operate on split sites.
But it has sparked a furious backlash
amid accusations the Preston base will be-
come a glorified “stockroom”.
County bosses say their funding pack-
age is only on the table if Preston remains
the “hub” for the attraction.
And the Evening Post can reveal the
row could end up in court.
