Binary Amplitude Shift Keying

Aim
Perform Binary amplitude shift keying.

Binary Amplitude Shift Keying circuit
Theory
Binary Amplitude Shift Keying (BASK) or On Off Keying (OOK) is one of the
digital modulation techniques in which the amplitude of carrier is switched
according to the binary data.

Procedures
1. The circuit is connected as per the circuit diagram shown in fig 2.
2. Apply the carrier signal of approximately 10V (p-p) at 2kHz frequency and
binary signal of 10V (p-p) with frequency 300Hz. What is your
observation?
3. Observe on the BASK modulation signal by changing the frequency of
carrier signal to 3 kHz, 4kHz, 5kHz, 6KHz, 7KHz. (Binary signal is kept
constant at 300Hz)
4. Observe on the BASK modulation signal by changing the frequency of
Binary signal to 100, 400,600Hz, 700Hz, 800Hz (carrier signal is kept
constant at 2kHz).
5. What is your observation when
Carrier frequency is greater than binary signal.
Carrier frequency is less than binary signal.
