#11 RUBN (with Max, Don Latino)

RUBN
Watch your manners, Latino.
DON LATINO
Some of us do more than write poetry to earn a
living. I remain an avid supporter of the
spiritual and the magical.
So do I!

RUBN

MAX
Do you believe, Rubn?
I believe!

RUBN
MAX

In God?
RUBN
And in Christ!
MAX
And in the flames of Hell?
RUBN
And in the harmony of the Spheres!
MAX
Rubn, youre a fraud!
RUBN
(laughs) A little nave, perhaps!
MAX
For me there is nothing beyond the final breath.
If there is, Ill come back and tell you.
RUBN
Shut up, Max. Lets not spoil the evening!
MAX
Rubn, dont forget this meal. And now, lets
drink this wine with the roses of your poetry. We
are listening.

#11 RUBN (with Max, Don Latino)

RUBN
Ill see if I can remember A Pilgrimage to
Santiago de Compostela It is my latest
composition.
MAX
Has it been published? If it has, I will have
read it.
RUBEN
I may not remember it. La ruta tocaba a su fin.
/ Y en el rincn de un quicio oscuro / Nos
repartimos un pan duro / With the Marquis de
Brandomn! The time has come to drink to our
infamous friend.
MAX
But the Marquis has left this world!
RUBN
Yes, his farewell letter inspired this poem. Let
us drink to the health of an exquisite sinner!
MAX
Lets drink!
