(UR) to continuously update and improve thelr standard specications. These now
specications are not only aimed at keeping abreast with current technologies but aso
helping in improving the quaty of constructed product. In unison, these new specifications.

incorporation of now products and technologies.
Standard Specification for Road Woiks Is an essontlal component in the road
Infastucture construction industry. This speciation provides an improved guidance In
the material selection and the production of good quality workmanship and products
bbased on current best practices. The purpose ofthis standard specication isto establish

CLEARING, GRUBBING AND STRIPPING TOPSOIL

Description
This work shall consist of clearing, grubbing and stripping topsol in the
‘areas within the limits of Works designated hereunder andlor shown onthe
Drawings andlor directed by the S.0,, and of clearing only in other areas
\dosignated hereunder andior shown on the Drawings andior directed by
the $.0,, all as specified herein and as required by the S.0. The work shall
‘also include the demoliton and disposal of stuctures in the said reas,
‘except where otherwise provided for in the Contract, as spectied herein
and as required by the S.0.
24.4.1 Site Clearing
Clearing shall consist of cuting andor taking down, removal and dlsposal
fof everthing above ground lave, including objects overnanging the areas
to be cleared such as trea branches, except such trees, vegetation,
Structures or pars of structures, and other things which are designate in
the Contract to remain, or be removed by other, of which the §.0. directs
‘are to be left uncsturbed. The material fo be cleared shall include but not,
recessarly be limited to trees, stumps (parts above ground), logs,

‘Stripping topsoil shall consist of the removal of topsoil to an average depth
of at least 100 mm below ground loval, and is stockpiling for use in the
Works, andlor is disposal, as directed bythe S.0.
2.1.14 Dumping

24.2 Construction Methods
2.12.1 Areas to be Cleared
‘The areas where the Works are to be carried out shal! be cleared as
described in Sub-Section 2.1.1, uniess otherwise shown on the Drawings
andlor directed bythe 80.

2.1.2.3 Topso

21.24 Tambor

21.25 Suctures
Major stuctures are those which cannot practicably be cleared by
bulldozer andlor hyraulc excavator, whose demolition requires pneumatic
tools, explosives andlor other specialised equipment. A brief descriton of
