Master Data Overview

Master Data consists of three parts

1) Product structure (BOM)
2) Product processes (Routing)
3) Available capacities (Work Center)
BOM and Routing can be combined into production versions.

When you create in MM01 the new material:

Industry sector needs to be filled
Industry sector influences the

B) field selection
Which follow in the creation of material master
Material Type is also neccessary to select.
It influences:
Internal or external number assignment
Which views are available and in which sequence
Whether the material can be configured
Controls Inventory management requirements
Accounts for goods movements

Main characteristics
3 types of time are used within routings:
1) Queque time
This is the period of time in which the material is located at the production center until the execution of operation begins.
2) Move time
Time to move from one production center to subsequent production center.
3) Wait time
After the operation is done the material wait to be moved to another production center.
