East West directions in hot humid
climate.

It should be porous with lots of open

QN.3. IS SUN A FRIEND OR ENEMY? ELABORATE

Sun will truly be an enemy for Chennai.
This can be inferred from the Average dry bulb temperature and the
Global horizontal radiation Charts, in which the desirable values
are 20-28 C and <315.5 Wh/sqm respectively.

AVERAGE DRY BULB TEMPERATURE FOR CHENNAI.

The shaded portion in yellow indicates the hours in different months in

which the dry bulb temperature exceeds 28 C. Hence during majority
of hours shading is required.

GLOBAL HORIZONTAL RADIATION FOR CHENNAI

The orange shaded portion indicates the hours in which global horizontal
radiation exceeds <315.5 Wh/sqm .
Since undesirable conditon prevails for majority of hours, sun is Chennais

2. In the Global horizontal radiation sheet, values >315.5 Wh/sqm is highlighted.

3. THE COMMONLY SHADED AREA IN BOTH THE

CHARTS IS HIGHLIGHTED. THIS AREA GIVES
THE SHADING PERIOD.
