Check/Double-up Anchor Lashings
Clear Focsle of loose gear/ropes & ensure
water-tightness of spurling pipes and hatches

Ensure Scuppers are free
Close/Cover DB vents
Rig Lifelines
Check W/T of Doors especially on Main
Deck
Check lashings on Cargo Gear
(cranes/derricks etc)

Preps for Heavy Weather

Press-up or pump out fuel tanks. Preferably
press-up to add bottom weight.
Press-up ballast tanks
Take on Ballast if necessary to improve GM
Empty Swimming Pools
Check security of cargo in holds
Check LSA accessible and ready to use.
