Abstract
The theory and applications of singular integral equations (SIEs) are an important
subject within applied mathematics. SIEs are used as mathematical models for many and
varied physical situations and also occur as reformulations of other mathematical and
mechanical problems.
At the beginning, such equations were found out in A. Puankare and D. Hilberts
works, directly after the existence of the classical theory of Fredholm integral equations.
However, the theory of SIE was not paid attention much by mathematicians at that time.
But in this time, one-dimensional and multi-dimensional SIE significantly have moved
forward.
The theory of SIEs becomes more effective, especially when it attracts the attention to
examining the solution of boundary value problems, usually called Remann or Hilbert
problems. On the other hand, some of the problems aerodynamic, hydrodynamic, the
theory of elasticity, boundary value problems of mathematical physics, the solution of
boundary value problems of the theory of analytic function are reduced to SIEs. These
equations are seldom solved analytically. Therefore, the numerical solutions of these
equations have a great significance.
In this research, we shall deal with Cauchy singular integral equation of the form

where, K(x ,t) and f(t) are known continuous functions and (t) is unknown function.
Research Objectives
1. Finding new theorem for evaluating the Cauchy singular integral.
2. Solving Cauchy singular integral equation using new technique depends on
differential transform method.
3. Creating Matlab and Maple programs for obtaining numerical results.
Literature Review
Some researchers described some techniques for obtaining numerical solutions of
singular integral equation with Cauchy kernel using different methods. Namely,
Chakrabarti and Berghe (2004), Eshkuvatov et al. (2009), Nik Long et al. (2009),
Abdulkawi (2011), Abdulkawi et al. (2009), Abdulkawi et al. (2011), Abdelaziz and Said
(2011), Rashed (2003) , Mohamed and Hussein (2011) and so on.
Research Methodology
In this research, differential transform method will be used to obtain new technique
for solving characteristic singular integral equation of the Cauchy type.
