St John Ambulance (SJA) is the nations leading first aid charity.
They believe that anyone could be
the difference between a life lost and a life saved. As a result they are committed to training people of all ages in first aid. As an organisation they provide a wide range of training and services nationwide. These include providing first aid cover at national and local events. As well as this they support the emergency services with Community First Responders. These volunteers can, where needed, get on scene before an ambulance or RRV and help with the basic preservation of life. Alongside this they provide life saving skills training to workplaces, schools and colleges and are currently trying to get first aid on the national curriculum. Volunteers form the base of SJA and people of all ages can be apart. There are various roles adults can help with including, but are not limited to: First Aid cover Logistics Youth Leadership PR and fund-raising Human resources Safeguarding Health and Safety Young people are also an integral part of St John Ambulance and have many paths they can follow. For examples, Cadets aged 10 - 14 can immerse themselves in a wide range of activities, like some of the following: Cadet Leadership training Peer Education Grand Prior Awards - certificates in a wide range of subjects that build through bronze, silver, gold and the Grand Prior award First Aid training at varying levels of intensity First Aid cover at events Drill Skills seminars First Aid and/or Cadet of the Year competitions
